New 'Stargate Universe' Promo	Login to vote
It is less than one month until the spaceship Destiny gets underway in SGU;Stargate Universe and we've got another glimpse of the new show for you, courtesy of Syfy. To watch the action-packed 30-second promo click on the Video tab at: http://www.cinemaspy.com/article.php?id=3168 SGU premieres on Syfy in the United States and on Space in Canada on October 2 at 9/8c (viewers in the UK can see it on Sky One on October 6). The series is the third in the Stargate franchise, following Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. The new Stargate series follows a band of soldiers, scientists and civilians, who must fend for themselves after they are forced through a Stargate when their secret military research base is attacked. On the other side of the gate they find themselves on board an ancient ship, the Destiny, which is locked on an unknown path and unable to return to Earth. Faced with meeting the most basic needs of food, water and air, the group must discover the secrets of the shipâ€™s Stargate to survive. Leading the cast of Stargate Universe is Scottish actor Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting, The Full Monty) as Dr. Nicholas Rush. Rush is described as an acclaimed and respected scientist who will gamble the livelihood of many for the advancement of science. SGU also stars Louis Ferreira as Col. Everett Young, the leader of the military contingent on the Destiny. His role will bring him into conflict with the civilians aboard as the first season progresses. Other cast members are Ming-Na (The Joy Luck Club, ER) as Camile Wray, Lou Diamond Phillips (La Bamba, Stand and Deliver) as Lieutenant Telford, as well as David Blue as Eli Wallace, Alaina Huffman as Master Sergeant Tara Johansen, Jamil Walker Smith as Master Sergeant Ronald Greer and Brian J. Smith as Lt. Matthew Scott. The premiere episode, Air, is a two-hour event that will end on a cliffhanger. It is directed by Andy Mikita (Stargate Atlantis, Stargate SG-1) and lensed by Rohn Schmidt (The Shield, The Mist). Robert C. Cooper and Brad Wright are the creators, executive producers and writers of series, which is distributed by MGM Worldwide Television Distribution.
