Swine Flu Freezes Bones, Frightens Fans Bones Login to vote
David Boreanaz has come down with a case of the flu -- which could be the much-hyped H1N1 virus. Or is it all just a joke gone wrong?

Bones has come a long way since it spent its first four seasons bouncing around Fox's schedule, trying to settle into a consistent timeslot. Now a tentpole on Thursday nights, Bones is pulling in respectful numbers on the ultra-competitive evening -- and it seems like nothing can stop it. Except a swine flu outbreak, of course.

Production on the flirty forensics drama has come to a screeching halt, according to a Tweet from showrunner Hart Hanson (via EW.com):

"First time in Bones history we are shut down from production. Damn swine flu! That's gonna cut into Christmas hiatus."

According to EW.com, Fox reps have confirmed that star David Boreanaz is one of the ill members of the Bones cast and crew. But you stalkers of the former Angel star shouldn't obey those restraining orders just yet. News that Boreanaz is stricken with the viral media darling of 2009 may have been a bit premature.

"Oops! There is no indication that Boreanaz has swine flu," Hanson tweeted an hour later. "I'm now going out to get swine flu myself as atonement."

Fox has confirmed to TV.com that Hanson's first Tweet was just a joke, and that Boreanaz simply called in sick with "flu-like symptoms." Let's chalk this up as another case of the Internet and social-networking sites gone wild. Bones hopes to get back to work tomorrow.

Get better, David!
