Just as American Idol is ready to premiere on Fox for its 9th season (and Ellen DeGeneres joined as a judge, so I might actually watch) there is news that Simon Cowell will be leaving the show when his contract is up in 2010. The report comes from Britain's The Sun. Paula Abdul's leaving, that other chick joined, Ellen is there…all of this changing of judges is odd. The show is popular, why would you want to leave?
