Actor Vincent D'Onofrio will return to USA's "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" for its tenth and reportedly final season. The series originally began airing on NBC then switched over to USA just a few years ago. According to Associated Press, D'Onofrio will reprise his role as Detective Goren, the quirky yet extremely intelligent investigator. In one of his previous final episodes, Goren disappeared while investigating a special case. The news report states that there will be eight more episodes of the legal drama show airing in 2011 to end the show. Dick Wolf and USA execs have indicated that might change though. As of right now there's no officially scheduled date for "L&O" or D'Onofrio's return to the Criminal Intent TV show. However, this is good news for many longtime fans who enjoyed his character on the show, one of the most intriguing and entertaining in all of the "Law & Order" series. He's also had some great roles in major motion pictures including "Men in Black" as well as the more recent "Brooklyn's Finest." It would be great to see him make a crossover appearance on the new "Los Angeles" based Law and Order as well. “Only time will tell if this is a fond farewell or a renaissance for Detective Robert Goren,” teased exec producer Dick Wolf, “but everyone is ecstatic about going back to work on a show that’s a passion for all of us.” Jeff Goldblum has left the show in August due to "uncertainty" of the show's future and an agency switch.
