FOX Cancels The Chicago Code, Breaking In, and Human Target, Lie to Me, Traffic Light	Lie to me	Login to vote
The bad news finally came. FOX has given the axe to five shows (see end of article), one of which came as a bit of a surprise. The network, who has been busy green-lighting new pilots to series, has decided to cancel new comedy Breaking In, new crime drama The Chicago Code, and sophomore action-er Human Target. All were on the bubble, but the news of Breaking In was a bit of a surprise. The ratings were actually quite good for the comedy, which benefited from an American Idol lead in, but reviews have the series itself were mixed. Some loved it, some hated it. Best guess is that FOX thought that the show was only being watched because of the notorious ratings that American Idol draws in each week. Unfortunately, The Chicago Code falls. This was one show I was personally pushing for but it doesn’t come surprising at all given the low ratings, despite tough competition on a Monday. Human Target was expected to be given the boot as the show never really took off much even in its first season. FOX is expected to officially announce the cancellations of all three shows tomorrow morning. In more positive news, FOX has ordered the Bones spinoff ‘The Finder‘ to series as well as the new comedy ‘The New Girl‘ (starring Bones co-star Emily Deschanel’s sister Zooey). For JJ Abrams fans, ‘Alcatraz‘ has been given the go after numerous reports that the show was in trouble. Earlier today FOX renewed House for an eighth season as well as confirming extensions for both Family Guy and The Cleveland Show. Sound off fans – what shows did you want saved?
