  The next series of Doctor Who will premiere on April 3 on BBC One, it has been confirmed.

New showrunner Steven Moffat made the announcement this morning on BBC Breakfast.

The episode is entitled 'The Eleventh Hour' and will feature Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor and Karen Gillan as his new companion Amy Pond.

The upcoming series is the 31st since Doctor Who first aired in November 1963 and the fifth since the programme's 2005 relaunch headed by Russell T. Davies.

Fox 'pressures affiliates over Conan'
  Fox network execs are allegedly pressuring their local affiliate stations to keep the 11pm to 12am timeslot open for Conan O'Brien.

According to TMZ, the former Tonight Show host and network bosses are "seriously talking" but no deals have been made.

'Glee' cast to appear on Oprah

  The cast of Glee have been invited on to The Oprah Winfrey Show to coincide with the premiere of season one's second half in April.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Winfrey's April 7 programme will focus entirely on the musical comedy series.

The episode will include interviews with the cast and show creator Ryan Murphy, along with behind-the-scenes footage on the set and an in-studio concert performance.

  Ashley Tisdale has joined the cast of Hellcats.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the pilot is in development at The CW and is on track for a fall pickup by the network.

The 40-year-old will play recurring character Alejandro Rivera, says The Hollywood Reporter.

  The premiere of FX’s “Justified” on Tuesday night was the second most-watched series debut in the network’s history.

“Justified” was seen by 4.2 million viewers, topping all of cable TV and ranking as FX’s biggest series premiere since “The Shield” first aired in 2002.
