It's official: Friday Night Lights scores two more seasons!
Primeval
Panther fans have something to celebrate: Friday Night Lights has scored a two-season pickup, securing the series for 26 more episodes.

NBC and DirecTV agreed to green light a fourth and fifth season, following this season's model in which DirecTV airs the episodes first, commercial-free, before they arrive on NBC, Variety says.

An NBC rep could not immediately be reached for comment.

The fate of the low-rated, critically acclaimed football drama has been in question since last year, wh...

"We're developing a feature for Jericho," Turteltaub told IF. "It would not require you to have seen the TV show, but it get into life after an event like this on a national scale. It would be the bigger, full on American version of whatĂ...

Lipstick Jungle is alive?!
As Tracy-Jordan-as-white-girl once said on 30 Rock: "Lipstick!" -- or, in this case, Lipstick Jungle!

NBC announced today that Zombie Brooke Shields and Co. will live to multitask another day, as reports of the show's death may have been greatly exaggerated after all. "We officially have not canceled Lipstick Jungle," said Angela Bromstad, the president of NBC Universal's production studio. "I think there are alternatives we may look into. It's all a conversation for ...

NBC: Heroes isn't going anywhere
Nip/Tuck
"Heroes" need not worry about cancellation this season, says NBC's president of primetime entertainment, Angela Bromstad.

The NBC drama has gone from one of the network's top-rated programs to approaching worrisome ratings territory during the past few months, especially given the show's price tag.

" 'Heroes' is very secure," she says. "We have a great relationship with Tim Kring ... what’s important is we never lose site of being responsible in production&q...

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- A month after rolling back its full season commitment to "Knight Rider," NBC will do the same to fellow freshman entry "Kath & Kim."

Like "Knight," "Kath" will produce just 17 installments this season, five shy of its previously announced 22-episode order.

Sources also confirm the show will wrap its run on Thursday, March 12. The Peacock announced earlier today that "The Untitled Daniels/Schur/Poehler Seri...

ABC delays end of Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money
Dying to know where the Piemaker and his beloved Charlotte Charles will end up when Pushing Daisies comes to a close?

Join the club! But apparently ABC is in no hurry to give the fans closure.

Sources close to the Alphabet network tell me exclusively that the remaining episodes for Daisies will not air until—wait for it, ‘cause you're gonna have to—this summer.

And that's not all. It's the same case for those two other much-loved but recently canceled ABC series: Eli...

Josh Hopkins guest-starring on Private Practice
It isn't enough that Private Practice's Addison (Kate Walsh) can't go a week without a guy; now, it seems, she can't go a week without more than one. Though in tonight's episode, she and beau Kevin attempt to resolve their relationship issues, and she takes a closer look at Wyatt, the show has just cast yet another love interest for her!

I've learned exclusively Swingtown's Josh Hopkins has signed on for five episodes as the latest surgeon with whom our lead MD will play doctor.

So what do...

Grant Show to join 90210?
Kelly Taylor definitely had her share of men during her original 90210 days. There was Dylan, Brandon, Colin, Matt — she even dated Steve in the early years. But one of her short-lived ex's, Jake Hanson (played by Grant Show), may be making a return to the 90210 reboot for a long-overdue reunion.

In a recent interview with E! Online, Show said he would be open to making a return to the CW's 90210 or in the upcoming Melrose Place 2.0. But should he choose to go down that path, he would ...

Desperate Romantics
Until today, we've know very little about the upcoming NBC sitcom starring Saturday Night Live's Amy Poehler. Producers have finally let television critics take a look at the pilot script, and if anyone predicted Poehler would play a mid-level bureaucrat in the Parks & Recreation department, well, you've won a prize.

The script was included in a press kit handed out at the Television Critics Association press tour, currently underway in Los Angeles, and Pittsburgh Post Gazette critic Rob ...

American Idol ratings up for second episode
My Name Is Earl
For the first time in five seasons, "American Idol" ratings went up for its second episode.

Wednesday night's "Idol" was flat among total viewers (30.3 million viewers) compared with Tuesday's opener and grew 1% in adults 18 to 49 (an 11.8 rating, according to time-zone-adjusted fast nationals ordered by Fox).

That may not sound like much, but usually “Idol” Night 2 drops notably.

During the past four seasons, the Wednesday premiere has dropped an averag...

What are the chances your CW faves will survive for another season?

The official verdict won't come down until the upfronts in May, when the networks unveil their new fall schedules, but CW president Dawn Ostroff and One Tree Hill star Sophia Bush are offering up a little early information.

Will the OTH cast sign on for another year? Will Clark Kent continue on for one more season in Smallville? And will Supernatural survive to hunt demons another day or could the Winchester boys go down b...

Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are going back in time for their upcoming "Gossip Girl" spinoff.

The new CW project will focus on a younger version of "Gossip Girl's" Lily van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford). Spinoff centers on the character as a wild teenager in 1980s Los Angeles, when she was known by her maiden name, Lily Rhodes.

The L Word spinoff takes place in prison
File this under "Is he serious?"

Robert Greenblatt, Showtime's entertainment president, finally lifted the lid on the much-talked-about The L Word spin-off. The big secret: It takes place in the slammer!

"One of the characters from The L Word goes to prison," he reports. Wait, who? It's Leisha Hailey's sweetie-pie Alice, who apparently finds herself on the wrong side of the law some time between now and the lesbian drama's series finale. Though the cast of the new show,...
