so what's so special about bear... when i joined the army in 1970 we were taught that drinking urine was a top survival tip...just don't drink your own, it's bad for you. now 40 years later some moron (bear) is trying to make out it's his idea...must be suffering mental trauma from drinking his own piss

spangle... might i suggest that you have suffered some trauma from drinking other peoples urine as well? the logic in "just don't drink your own, it's bad for you" is just retarded, why would it matter who it was from? your urine is ether bad for everyone or nobody, assuming people aren't extra sensitive to the substance for some reason(people who are not suppose to eat salt for example). some wiki references: "healthy urine is not toxic in concentrations as excreted.[6] however, as a waste product it contains compounds undesirable to the body and can be irritating to skin and eyes. after suitable processing it is possible to extract potable water from urine." and perhaps more interesting: "numerous survival instructors and guides,[29][30][31][32][33] including the us army field manual,[34] advise against drinking urine for survival. these guides explain that drinking urine tends to worsen, rather than relieve dehydration due to the salts in it, and that urine should not be consumed in a survival situation, even when there is no other fluid available. in hot weather survival situations, where water is also hard to find, soaking cloth in urine (a shirt for example) and putting it on one's head can help cool the body." so one can only wonder, who is suffering from mental trauma here? and if you think your army training somehow outrank the knowledge of wikipedia, here is another interesting information on the subject: "during world war i, the germans experimented with numerous poisonous gases for use during war. after the first german chlorine gas attacks, allied troops were supplied with masks of cotton pads that had been soaked in urine. it was believed that the ammonia in the pad neutralized the chlorine. these pads were held over the face until the soldiers could escape from the poisonous fumes, although it is now known that chlorine gas reacts with urine to produce toxic fumes (see chlorine and use of poison gas in world war i)" bummer... so i would not take to seriously on what some military hill-billy told you back in the flower-power age ;-) |

lol, i don't think anyone want to do it(unless you are making a kinky porno movie). the argument was that it was a "good idea" for survivability, witch it is not... it makes things worse. of course, anyone who is not brain dead would be able to figure out... that drinking diuretic fluids when your body need water is a bad idea... this must be the same brainy people that pee on dead people(and records it for evidence!)... perhaps did they think the urine had healing property's and that there where helping them? ... [/sarcasm] |
