city homicide is really bad. i'm aussie too, and i can assure you that this is far from the best we have to offer. there are a few cool bits, like the first episode with the head in the soggy ceiling, but otherwise the show is just ass. the king was good, probably the best thing australians have ever done. |

horses for courses mate - i agree with tinman. this show is grouse - the best effort by an oz outfit in years. |

we get the humor but it's like the show is from the early 70's in the us, with all the sexist cliches, the all white cast, the two hyper-macho males and the woman agent who just has to take the discrimination against her and do better than the men to prove herself. what a load of bs. |

oi paros - aaron pederson is an aboriginal for starters, so that takes care of the all-white cast. should the programme cast more non-whites just to cater to the us' black-white proportions? the fact is, there aren't that many aboriginal police officers. if anything, there's room for an asian - but again, there aren't that many serving at the moment. unfortunately, female officers (not 'agent' - she's a cop) still do have to go through a lot of shit. ch isn't that inaccurate in that respect. having said all of that - if you don't like, don't watch. that's your call. |

i'm watching it because i like your accent. i just looked up australia and i have to claim ignorance on this issue - i thought the total population was much more than 22 million. anyhow, the us market is saturated with the police dramas in big cities so i was hoping we'd get to see a bit of australian culture and a bit of the magnificent natural landscapes rather than the trials and tribulations of suburbia. but you have to admit it gets a bit cheesy. the hot young cop is getting harassed by a rich woman and the guy can't deal with all the sex she wants? lol... it sounds like a bad sitcom rather than a police drama. in any case, i'll keep checking it out. |

hey paros if you wanted to see the landscape then 'blue heelers' would have been a better show for you. it's about cops in a victorian country town. plenty of country landscape for you there. and i'm with sidchromeau, aaron pederson is aboriginal and does a great job as the yobbo cop. while the show can get a little flat sometimes i think it's potential to get better as the series moves along and the writers and cast find a groove. it's like most shows, the first half dozen episodes are always the feeling out period. i think it's just great that the show is being watched by people in the us, even if it is via the web. it means there's hope for aussie drama to get into the us market and us actors trying to make it in australia have a chance of making a living in our own backyard. |

i'm in oz, i have to admit, sometimes the show does go a bit over the top on the old cheese-o-meter. but, i have to say of all the cast, aaron pederson is by far the best actor. but i swear, if noni hazelhurst doesn't lose that clipboard..i'll go absolutely bonkers. |

ah, blue heelers, there is a show with an international appeal that ranks up there with neighbours and channel 7's version of neighbours. hey, a question about neighbours, do you americans spell it properly, or does your tv guide call it "neighbors" instead? |
