good news for fans: both series will be back next year. are you like me and can’t resist a good mystery? how about a show about a giant bubble and the crazy inhabitants of the town it covers? or maybe astronauts and the mysteries of outer space are more your thing? well, you’re in luck, as cbs has just renewed both under the dome and extant; both shows will return the summer of 2015, according to zap2it. under the dome, which is based on the stephen king novel of the same name, centers on a small town that becomes trapped by an invisible bubble and the hysteria that ensues among the citizens. the show has been a certified hit for cbs the past two summers, drawing in around 11 million viewers, and will return for its third outing. the freshman science-fiction drama extant features academy award winner halle berry as an astronaut that returns to earth pregnant…oh, and did i mention she was on a solo spaceflight? cue the twilight zone theme at any time. extant’s second season will also air next summer.
