'Revolution' to Be Resurrected Online Revolution (2012) Login to vote
A year after it was axed, Revolution fans finally will get closure.

A new digital comic book from DC Comics will be released in May to give resolution to the drama's story lines that were left open-ended, Warner Bros. Television announced Wednesday. Warner Bros. Television produced the series, which NBC axed in May 2014 after a two-year run.

Following passionate fan efforts to bring the series back, Revolution's writing staff reassembled to break the story for the digital comic book. Series writers David Reed and Ryan Parrott penned the four new chapters.

Beginning May 4, one of four separate digital chapters will be rolled out every two weeks. Each of the four chapters will have a specifically designed cover, all illustrated by DC Comics artist Angel Hernandez. Fans can get a first look at the Revolution character illustrations here.

Each of the four chapters will debut exclusively on www.ComicBook.com one week before they are made available on Revolution's Facebook page.

Revolution's creator and executive producer Eric Kripke penned a special thank-you message to fans timed to Wednesday's announcement. "The loyalty you've shown Revolution these past months has been touching and overwhelming — it's meant more to me than you'll ever know," he wrote. "And solely because of your efforts, we wanted to pay you back — to give you something fantastic. And while, unfortunately, we simply can't make more episodes of the show (alas, there are financial realities we can't overcome), we can do the next best thing. Which is end the story. On our terms. Exactly the way we would have."

Revolution was executive produced by Kripke, J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk, Rockne S. O'Bannon and Jon Favreau.
