better call…jimmy mcgill?

in a new video released by amc, we finally get a glimpse into how everyone’s favorite morally-compromised lawyer got his start.

creators vince gilligan and peter gould elaborate a bit on something we already knew from breaking bad: that at some point in his life, saul changed his name for reasons currently unbeknownst to us. better call saul, which takes place about 5 years before saul meets the infamous walter white, will dive deeper into into the mysterious jimmy mcgill’s life prior to bad’s story.

and while he claims in the teaser, “i don’t go looking for guilty people to represent…,” i must say, beg to differ mr. mcgill. beg to differ.

better call saul will premiere in february 2015.
